With Jack is now authorised by the FCA

After two years trading as an appointed representative in an InsurTech incubator, With Jack is now authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

Big news! With Jack is now authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK’s financial regulatory body.

For the past two years With Jack has been trading as an appointed representative in an InsurTech incubator. We’ve signed up hundreds of freelancers, won an award at the Digital Insurance Awards, added several products to our line and travelled around the UK meeting our customers. It’s been a good two years in the incubator.

Whilst that gave us the ability to help you arrange your insurance, being an appointed representative meant there were certain aspects of the business we lacked control of.

A big one was payments. Either the insurer handled payments via Direct Debit or premiums would be paid directly to our principal firm.

Customers would get in touch to ask if we’d received their payment… and we couldn’t tell them. Now we’re authorised by the FCA, we have a lot more responsibility and can now handle payments in-house and generally run a tighter ship.

Being authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority gives With Jack more control over the day-to-day runnings of the business. Customers will have an even better experience going forward. Payment handling is now in-house, and being authorised gives us more scope to execute on the vision we have for With Jack.

Alongside our new look, shipping instant quotes last month and becoming directly authorised by the FCA, we hope it’s clear With Jack is growing up and heading in a new direction. We want to become the best platform to help keep freelancers in business. Today is another step towards that vision.

We asked ourselves one important question…

What do we want out of an insurance provider?

With Jack is the answer
