Our fast track claims process
One of our contents claims for a damaged laptop was resolved the same day it was submitted. We do have a fast track claims process for claims under £1000.
Provided you give us all of the information we need, the insurer aims to resolve these claims within 24-28 working hours. This customer said they couldn’t believe how quickly it was resolved and how easy it was!
80% of the freelancer’s invoice settled by the insurer
Another month, another freelancer struggling to get paid by their client. This freelancer utilised the debt recovery service included with their legal expenses insurance, but on this occasion the insurer offered a settlement instead of chasing the client.
The freelancer accepted the offer, which was 82% of their fee. Not everyone will accept a settlement. For some freelancers the moral victory can be more important than the money.
“I did the work, I expect the client to pay for this.” That line of thinking is understandable, but sometimes you need to weigh up the time and energy spent chasing late payments with no guarantee the client will pay.
A dispute over the work that was completed
One of our customers was in dispute with their client about the fee they received for work that was completed.
Nothing triggered the professional indemnity insurance, but because the client had expressed dissatisfaction with the work the insurer helped the freelancer draft replies to their client to resolve the situation.
The freelancer said the outcome wasn’t ideal because they had to compromise on a lower fee, but that the support they received from their insurance made a significant difference.
